Mobile Devices
Support of Mobile device by the IT help desk is limited to either Windows Mobile-based Devices or Exchange ActiveSync-enabled devices, both are fully supported by Exchange Server 2007.
Windows Mobile-based Devices are defined as Smart phones featuring the Windows mobile 6 or higher Operating systems*. You will find that most service carriers and manufacturer’s offer a variety of devices based on the Windows mobile operating system.
Exchange ActiveSync-enabled Devices are defined as devices running various operating systems that are certified as compatible with Microsoft ActiveSync. The Palm Treo 700, Palm Treo 650, Apple IPhone (FW 2.0), Sony Ericsson P990 and W950 are examples of mobile devices that are Exchange ActiveSync-Enabled.
If you intend on using a mobile device to connect with the University’s mail system be sure to verify that it is either Windows Mobile-based or Exchange ActiveSync enabled.
*Limited support is available for Windows Mobile-base 5.0 devices.
Settings
In addition to your E-mail address, user name and password you will need the following information to setup your mobile device:
Server: webmail.desu.edu
Domain: adminst
